Crown Court
Our team has successfully defended Crown Court cases over many years and has achieved hundreds of acquittals. Our expertise lies not only in commercial 'white collar' crime and fraud, but in almost every other area of serious crime in the Crown Court, Court of Appeal and the House of Lords.
We take great care in choosing the right barrister for each case. Selecting Counsel with the right expertise and personality is one of the keys to successfully defending serious criminal charges. We maintain close relationships with the leading criminal barristers’ Chambers throughout the country, in particular Manchester, Liverpool and London.
If you are under investigation by the police, HM Revenue and Customs, the Serious Fraud Office, the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) or any other prosecuting authority, it is vital that you seek specialist advice at the earliest opportunity. We can represent you at all stages from investigation at the police station, through to trial at the magistrates’ court and Crown Court.
We are expert in defending allegations of importation, possession, supply, and conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (including cocaine, heroin and ecstasy), Class B drugs (amphetamines such as speed and barbiturates) and Class C drugs (such as cannabis, ketamine and other tranquillisers, and anabolic steroids), murder and serious assault (section 18 and section 20 assault), rape, theft, robbery, arson, forgery, firearms offences and money laundering (converting, transferring or dealing with criminal property). Our experience also extends to the important surrounding issues of confiscation, Proceeds of Crime Act and criminal lifestyle allegations.
We are members of the Specialist Fraud Panel and are able to provide advice and representation in Serious Fraud Office investigations into Companies Act offences, conspiracy to defraud and false accounting. We specialise in defending carousel fraud, VAT fraud, MTIC fraud and insurance fraud.
Publicly-funded representation is available under a Representation Order (formerly known as Legal Aid) or on a private fee-paying basis.
