Equal Pay & Discrimination
Recent years have seen the expansion of anti-discrimination laws in the workplace to include new rights against less favourable treatment on grounds of sexuality, religion or belief and age.
These are in addition to established rights outlawing discrimination on grounds of sex, race and disability and providing the right to equal pay. Legislation also exists to provide protection for those working part-time or on fixed term contracts.
Employers are expected to take the rights of their workers seriously and adapt working practices accordingly.
If you feel that your employer has infringed your right not to suffer less favourable treatment on any of the above grounds, in almost all cases, it will be necessary for you to raise a grievance in accordance with certain statutory requirements before commencing legal proceedings.
There are strict time limits for taking such steps and so it is important to seek legal advice from a specialist employment lawyer without delay.
Our employment team at Ralli is very experienced in acting for claimants in all areas of discrimination, particularly in the fields of sex and disability.
