Tips

• Try and take photographs of the area where you fell as soon as possible after the injury
• Make a note of the contact details of any witness to your fall  
• If the fall was on a pavement, speak to local residents and see if any of them have reported the defect
• If the fall was in a restaurant or shop, make sure you report the matter to a member of staff before you leave the premises.
