What do I do at work ?

I deal with defence of any type of prosecution brought by agencies such as the Police and CPS, HM Revenue and Customs, The Environment Agency and Local Authorities.

I have defended numerous cases involving trading standards prosecutions, in relation to copyright theft particularly R4 Cards for the Nintendo DS System, MOD Chips for Sony Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.

I specialise in Serious Crime including Fraud and Confiscation, I also specialise in defending motoring offences and Licensing Act matters.

I am a Duty Solicitor on both the Manchester and Salford Duty Solicitor Schemes

What have I done?

I was a pupil at Bury Grammar School and then joined the Crown Prosecution Service in 1987.

I progressed to become Office Manager/Team Leader for the CPS and was involved in the Prosecution of large scale matters such as organised football violence, large scale drugs offences, murder cases and notable cases such as the "Strangeways Riot".

Following this I have been involved in defending criminal prosecutions and have defended in many serious crime matters such as murders, drugs offences, money laundering offences and a wide variety of defence matters.

I contribute regularly to Radio with observation and opinion in relation to current topics, I have given interviews to both national and local televsion, such as Sky News, BBC News and Grandada News.

I also have experience of licensing applications and have given seminars in relation to Licensing Act matters including SIA requirements and applications.

Also I have defended the largest "loan shark" brought by the trading standards loan shark team.

Last year I successfully defended "Celebrity Gangster" Dave Courtney at the Old Bailey in relation to firearms charges.

I have represented many memorabilia collectors in relation to forged autograph cases in particular Liverpool Football Club signed memorabilia.

What do I like?

All sport but mainly Football, Rugby, Boxing and Squash; travel and meeting people, socialising, technology and gadgets, music, Jaguar cars, power boats and watches.
