What do I do at work?

I work as part of the Corporate Department and head up the Partnership Law team.

In addition to partnership law I work with companies and carry out mergers, acquisitions and sales.  I also support businesses in general commercial contract issues.  Additionally I act for businesses on commercial leases and property deals.  Finally, I draft wills and administer probate.

I have presented at Business Schools and written articles for a variety of journals.  I have also appeared on a number of local radio stations.

What have I done?

Before becoming a solicitor I worked in banking and in consulting.  At Chase Manhattan, I ran trade finance and syndicated lending operations before moving north, taking an MBA and setting up my own business providing advice and training to a wide range of businesses from SME's to multinationals.  I got fed up arguing with lawyers and decided to become one!  I look to use my business experience to bring a very practical approach to law.

I am a director of an on-line retail company.

What do I like?

I am a qualified rowing coach and have coached winning crews at a national level.  I am Chairman of the 4th Warrington Scouts and Co-Chair of the Manchester Business School North West Alumni Breakfast Club.

In my spare time I like cooking, interesting wines, good company, live music (from opera to punk rock via jazz) and generally keeping myself busy, interested and amused.

I live in Cheshire with my wife and three children.
