What do I do at work?
I was made a team leader in August 2009 and promoted to Associate on the 1st July 2010.
I handle a broad range of personal injury matters to include road traffic accidents, accidents at work and slips or trips. I also deal with Motor Insurers Bureau claims and Criminal Injury claims.
I also regularly assist one of the partners with cases of the utmost severity involving acquired brain injury, and permanent disability. I find cases of this nature both challenging and extremely rewarding.
I also oversee and manage the firms Road Traffic Accident work via our dedicated RTA team.
What have I done?
In my previous employment I was promoted to Associate within 18 months of qualifying and undertook day to day managerial responsibilities, I left in order to work in Manchester city centre.
During my years at University I was the social secretary for the student Law Society and arranged social functions to include the end of term ball attended by the Royal Bank of Scotland and various barristers' chambers.
Notable cases include Jones v Netherhall Riding School (horse bite case), Jackson v Lincolnshire CC(tripping case) and Davies v Cuff (limitation case).
I have recently dealt with the case of Mckenna v Stockport MBC which was a tripping case and was successful at trial recovering substantial damages for my client.
I also worked closely with Victoria Johnson on the Yetkin -v- London Borough of Newham case.
Nominated and short-listed for the Young Achiever of the year award in the 2010 Eclipse Proclaim awards.
What do I like?
Reading books of any genre, music, dancing and singing (in any order) and sport including cycling and horse riding.I completed the BUPA Great Manchester run in 2009, 2010 and 2011 raising much needed funds for the Christie and Factor 50. I have also completed a sponsored run in aid of the Help the Heroes charity supporting our armed forces, a charity close to my heart.
In my younger years I was a member of the Air Training Corps which involved hiking, camping and flying as well as archery and shooting at the range. I became proficient in using the .22 rifle and also the L98 – you have been warned!
I am also endeavouring to learn Portuguese much to my father's approval!
I can often be found walking my dog in the countryside at the weekend, whatever the weather.
