What do I do at work?
I am responsible for the day to day running of the Accounts Department supervising the firm's legal cashiers. This includes specifying the in house financial procedures and ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. I provide support to the firm's Operations and Finance Director on management accounting and reporting issues.
My other duties include report production, running payroll and administering the firm's pension and healthcare schemes, providing accounts training to all new staff, assisting fee-earners with billing, controlling the firm's purchase ledger and providing support to the credit controller.
What have I done?
I have had over 20 years experience in the field of legal cashiering. I trained in a mid-Cheshire firm of solicitors, where I progressed to the position of Accounts Manager also dealing with general office management. I then took on the challenge of the larger accounts role offered in my current position.
I am married with two children and live in Holmes Chapel. I play badminton for a local club and was a Venture Scout leader for over 10 years.
What do I like?
I like playing badminton, barbecuing, dancing, and reading John Grisham novels. I also enjoy walking and cycling with my family.
