My Job Title: Trainee Solicitor
Date I Joined Ralli: 25th June 2007
Admitted as a Solicitor: September 2011
Professional Qualifications: Legal Practice Course- Commendation (College of Law)
LLB – 2.1 (Liverpool John Moores University)

What do I do at work?

I am currently a trainee in the Regulatory Corporate and Serious Crime Department.  I am assisting the senior partner and various other solicitors on various files,  such as Proceeds of Crime, motoring offences,  trading standards offences and fraud to name a few.  In addition to this I have been attending the Magistrates and Crown Courts, police stations, prisons as well as conferences with clients and counsel.  I am enjoying this seat and have gained a wealth of experience and am looking forward to overcoming any further challenges.

In the next 12 months I am looking forward to completing seats in Corporate and Personal Injury.

What have I done?

Before I commenced my training contract I was working as a Paralegal in the Personal Injury department.  I was working alongside various fee earners and partners assisting them with the daily running of their cases, this included drafting various court documents, attending conferences and court on behalf of the fee earners, as well as having contact with clients, witnesses and third parties.  I had the opportunity of working on a variety of high profile cases such as Yetkin v London Borough of Newham, as well as serious RTA, fatalities, MIB, CICA, AAW and slips and trips.

I was also given the responsibility of managing a few cases of my own cases as well as being a member within the tripping department.  Other assistance I provided within the department was working alongside the New Client Co-coordinator with potential new cases that came through on a regular basis as well as managing the Court diary for the personal injury department.  All of the above gave me the opportunity to rise to challenges and gain in depth experience which will assist me as a trainee.

During my university years I enjoyed taking part in many organised charity events, such as taking part in sponsored walks, runs as well as organising a charity black tie ball.

I was a member of the Nightline Committee which was a listening and information service provided by students for the needs of all Liverpool students.  I was a member of the Liverpool Citizen Advocacy which involved working alongside local disadvantaged citizen.

In September 2008 I took part in an air free abseil at Manchester United Football ground to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis with other Ralli members which was an experience to remember!

What do I like?

I thoroughly enjoy taking part in charity events; I am building up my courage to take part in a sponsored sky dive next year!

I enjoy taking part in sports such as rounder's, netball, hockey, sprinting, rock climbing and swimming!

I enjoy socialising and going out with my family and friends, exploring new places as well as reading fiction and non fiction books.
