My Job Title: Personal Injury Solicitor

Date I Joined Ralli: 3 September 2007

Admitted as a solicitor: September 2009

Professional Qualifications:
LLB. (Hons) Law, University of Liverpool. LPC BPP Manchester where I gained a distinction.

What do I do at work?

I am a solicitor in the Personal Injury Department where on a day to day basis I deal with a range of Client's claims as a result of accidents at work, tripping and slipping accidents and claims arising out of occupier's liability. I also deal with some Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority claims.

I regularly assist one of the partners in high value cases involving permanent spinal and brain injuries.

I also act for both individuals and organisations involved in workplace bullying claims.  These claims are often brought by individuals, members of the police, or other members of uniformed services.  In addition, I have experience in police misconduct actions.

I am currently acting for a number of former and serving police officers in the precedent High Court case, Dowson and others v The Chief Constable of Northumbria Police.  This case has been brought under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and involves ground breaking areas of law.  The outcome of the case is extremely important for police officers both regionally and nationally.

I undertook my training contract at Ralli completing seats in Personal Injury, Crime, Corporate and Commercial Litigation.

What have I done?

After finishing my LPC I spent two months travelling and visited Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Fiji and LA! A few highlights were climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge being attached only by a tiny wire, and snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef with a shark.  I hasten to add it was quite small and harmless!

I have completed the Manchester 10k in aid of the Willow Foundation, and I am thinking about running further distances in the future.

What do I like?

I love all kinds of sport and can often be found in the gym or swimming pool. I like Skiing, and playing / watching tennis and I am a regular attendee at Wimbledon.  I enjoy horse riding and can be found at the stables a few times a week.  I also enjoy watching rugby and football.  I often go to the theatre and to concerts.  I have recently started walking but only in fair weather!
