What do I do at work?
I am responsible for operating two personal injury schemes for the benefit of the Ministry of Defence employees. This includes managing all the advertising and marketing through presentations, maintaining two websites, writing articles for magazines and conducting radio interviews which are transmitted worldwide. I am also responsible for locating and talking to clients on behalf of their solicitor. My position also requires me to visit our clients and conduct accident investigations.
In addition to the above duties, I also operate a company personal injury scheme; this involves promoting this scheme to civilian companies across the UK.
Finally, I am also responsible for helping generate new personal injury business. This is the most demanding part of my job as the competition for new business is fierce.
What have I done?
I joined the British Army in 1981, where I trained as an Infantry Soldier before joining the Royal Green Jackets. After 3 years, I then retrained and transferred to the Royal Corps of Transport which then became the Royal Logistic Corps. I specialised in Transport, Logistics and Training, and have gained a wide variety of both military and civilian qualifications. I reached the most senior rank as a soldier -Warrant Officer Class One.
My final appointment in the Army was as the Defence Master Driver, a very senior position responsible for Road Safety, Training and Transport Policy for the whole of the MoD. In May 2004, after fulfilling my military contract, I left the Army after 23 years loyal service.
I am a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport - CMILT
Member of the Association of Industrial Road Safety Officers – MAIRSO
Advanced Authorised Driving Instructor
What do I like?
I enjoy all aspects of my job and especially the challenges that it brings. I also enjoy all types of adventurous training, Scuba Diving, Golf, Swimming, Motor sports and Gardening.
