After 4 months of pure determination; sweat and tears, the team of Ralli runners finally crossed the BUPA run finishing line.

Back in February, the daunting prospect of the 10k challenge seemed so far away, however it was clear that training was imperative, as Trainee Solicitor, Victoria Crook explains.

"I did my first 5k on the 1st April, 4k on 2nd then a 5k run on 4th with an organisation called Parkrun.org – this was the hardest as it was competitive, outdoor and up hill some of the way! Although it definitely got me into the spirit of it"

With the help of Russell Watson and celebrity fitness instructors, the big day began in good spirits, with a total of 8 Ralli runners joining the other brave 33,000.

Spurred on by the surprisingly charming Manchester weather and constant support of spectators the team finished in very impressive times. Ralli Associate, Richard Biggs, continued his status as "fastest lawyer in the land", finishing the run in just over 48 minutes.

He commented: "The atmosphere around Manchester was fantastic, despite the threat of rain. The Ralli runners set off in various different "waves" throughout the morning. We were all lucky though to cross the finish line in good spirits, tired but happy in the knowledge that we'd raised over a £1000 for Factor 50"

In true Hollywood style, half way through the race injuries began to appear.

After a tough 6km, an old knee injury proved painful for Victoria, slowing down her pace. However she was determined to finish the run and did so in exactly 1 hour and 43 seconds.

The run was enjoyed by the whole team who raised money for cancer charity Factor 50 and now have the Manchester City 10k in their sights!
