Ralli daredevils complete 140ft abseil
Wed 8th Oct 08 - 10:26
Saturday 20th September saw Ralli team members reach for new heights after completing an impressive 140ft abseil to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Shahina Sakeria, Lorraine Kelsey and Geeta Tamber faced their fears to abseil from the North Stand of Manchester United's, Old Trafford Stadium.
In the company of celebrity boxers Steve Bell and Jamie Moore, as well as The Bill's Ciaran Griffiths, they braced themselves for the drop and raised more than £500 for charity as a result.
Shahina, a paralegal at the firm, inspired her colleagues to take part having successfully overcome her fear for a more modest abseil against a rock face.
Commenting on the event, Shahina said: "I was determined to push the boundaries of my comfort zone and signed the girls up to take part for some moral support.
"We all have a fear of heights so it was a real challenge both mentally and physically."
Added Geeta: "We're thrilled to have overcome our fears, it was a major adrenalin rush to achieve our goal and raise funds for such a worthy cause."
