One in three employers 'to sack agency workers' after new EU job laws

A report by Allen and Overy indicates that a third of employers are planning to avoid the consequences of the European Agency Workers Directive by ending agency workers’ contracts in their eleventh week –just before the end of the qualifying period for full employment rights.The firm calculates that about 462,000 of the UK’s 1.4m eligible temps stand to be made redundant in mid-December.
