Exit packages or compromise agreements with Ralli experts

How can we help?

Exit Packages or Compromise Agreements

Compromise agreements are legally binding agreements between an employer and employee, whereby the employee agrees not to pursue a potential claim against their employer. They are sometimes referred to as ‘Golden Handshakes’ or ‘Severance Packages’. For employers, particularly, they provide peace of mind that the employee will not pursue litigation against the business. For employees, a compromise agreement can reduce costs associated with a claim and bring the matter to a swift conclusion.

Our experienced employment lawyers in Manchester can advise employees on the terms of any agreement proposed by the employer and can negotiate on your behalf to achieve the best possible settlement. In order for a compromise agreement to be binding on both parties, the employee must take independent legal advice. Our employment solicitors can provide advice and sign off the necessary part of the agreement to ensure that it becomes legally binding. In the event that an employer breaches the terms of the compromise agreement, for example, by failing to pay monies due, our expert employment solicitors can take enforcement action to ensure that you receive all money due under the agreement.

Our expert employment solicitors can assist employers in drafting a compromise agreement. We can also negotiate on your behalf to ensure that your business is not disadvantaged in negotiations with the employee and advise on appropriate terms to include in the agreement. We will work with you to provide a speedy resolution to any issues.

Our employment law team has substantial experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on compromise agreements for employers and employees alike.
