I just cannot see how the laws would be scrapped in their entirety; what is needed is a bit of a reform to avoid decent people being summarily dismissed and having their work reputations trashed, while making sure that lazy people don't exploit the rules.

Thanks for this post
UK regulation limits by imposing a set of rules called aliens or immigration service checks before allowing non-British nationals. These laws are in place to set limits, including the duration of their stay, their purpose if they are allowed to ask their family to join them and if they could enjoy the many benefits of Britain.

Shame the law is totally unworkable and neglects the fact that all web browsers block pop-up's by default. I wouldn't have the first clue about how we or several million other websites could make this work and most web systems are coded by third parties that don't take account of EU rules. A useless bit of legislation indeed.

Luckily there's no way they could enforce the rule upon any except the largest of commercial websites, the man-power and practical knowledge simply doesn't exist to go after millions of ordinary sites.

So if the twitter account is right the twitteror could be in trouble; but if it's a load of old rubbish nothing happens, except that a few lives of the twitterees may ne made very uncomfortable. What a fine legal system, still let's keep on deluding ourselves that it's the 'envy of the world'.

Your post was made just ahead of Ken Clarkes press release on the planned No win No fee crackdown.

Clarke got his sums wrong on clinical negligence (NHS) claims and frankly has got quite a few other things the wrong way round as well.

The best one can say is that he didnt fall asleep during the press briefing

Thank you for your posting Professional Negligence Lawyers. This part of Lord Justice Jackson's proposals certainly should improve the position; although it is not clear when any of the proposals will be put in place. In my view Lord Justice Jackson's proposal does not go far enough as he talks about cover at the point of sending a letter of claim. It is therefore unclear whether he means to include the investigation stage; which as you know can take a considerable length of time and money.

I also agree with the comments of Linda Lee, an individual who is involved in litigation should be entitled to a choice of lawyer. If Lord Justice Jackson's reforms are implemented, it will resolve all the issues discussed.

Thanks for your kind words. Your absolutely right about some Clients wanting ‘their day in court’; which is fine but a good strong lawyer should make them aware that it is not necessarily in their best interests. In my experience once a Client has gotten the issues off their chest they will, more often than not, take the sensible route of looking at alternatives.
